Little sticks - introduction to lacrosse fundamentals

K, 1st, 2nd Grade - Girls & Boys

  • Little Sticks - A great program to start your lacrosse player's exploration of the sport!
    Little Sticks is a series of  4 one-hour clinics. Kids will be introduced to the fundamentals of lacrosse through stations divided by age and gender.
    Purchasing equipment is not necessary for this program. Sticks are available to use on loan for the season, there is no contact, and low weight soft lacrosse balls are used.
    • 4 one-hour sessions 

REGISTRATION FEES

  • USA Lacrosse Membership, valid for 1 year is required - $35 

  • Registration Fee - $25

  • Sticks available to loan for the season, $60 check held at pick up. Cashed if sticks are not returned.


Team Division Programs

1st, 2nd Grade - Girls & Boys - NEW Division for 2024!

  • 1st/2nd Girls Team & 1st/2nd Boys Team - Next steps for your lacrosse player who has enjoyed a previous intro program, such as Little Sticks.
    Time to get in the game! Take the fundamentals learned in Little Sticks and apply it to game play. Girls & Boys will be required to wear full lacrosse equipment (not provided). Players will practice twice a week and play in-house games. There may be an opportunity to play in 1-2 tournaments against other 1st and 2nd graders. Team space is limited.

3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th Grade - Girls & Boys

  • Team Divisions: 3rd/4th Grade Girls, 3rd/4th Grade Boys, 5th/6th Grade Girls, 5th/6th Grade Boys, 7th/8th Grade Girls, 7th/8th Grade Boys
    All age groups will practice 2 - 3x / week depending on division. Games will be a mix of home and away, against opponents within our NEPA league. All divisions are required to wear full equipment (not provided) for all practices and games. See below for more details about practice and games.

  • Girls 3rd/4th Grade Team - 2 days - Monday & Wednesday

  • Girls 5th/6th Grade Team - 2 days - Monday & Wednesday

  • Girls 7th/8th Grade Team - 3 days - Monday, Wednesday, & Thursday

  • Boys 1st/2nd Grade Team - 2 days - Friday & Day 2 TBD

  • Boys 3rd/4th Grade Team - 2 days - Tuesday & Thursday

  • Boys 5th/6th Grade Team - 2 days - Tuesday & Thursday

  • Boys 7th/8th Grade Team - 3 days - Tuesday, Thursday + TBD 3rd day

Overview

  • Double Rostering is not permitted
    Players are only allowed to register, practice, and play with one program within the NEPA League for the Spring Season. Programs include: Back Mountain Bandits, Wyoming Seminary, Lake-Lehman, Valley Laxers, Endless Mountains, Scranton, MALAXA, Abington Heights, Hazleton, and Lakeland.
  • Official outdoor practices for all divisions begin mid March, weather permitting.

  • Practice times will vary depending on daylight hours.  Typical practices will run about 1-1.5 hours and will begin anytime between 5-6pm, end anytime between 6:30-8pm.

  • The Season concludes in late May, prior to Memorial Day Weekend.

  • The majority of games will be scheduled on weekends, occasional weekday games will be scheduled. Opponent away games - Scranton, Abington Heights, Lakeland, Wyoming Seminary, Mountain Top, Forty Fort, Tunkhannock.

  • 1st/2nd grade teams will play primarily in-house games, plus 1-2 tournaments.

    • Pick Up & Play clinic participants receive an exclusive Lax.com discount - access to discount link on player poster. 

  • Parents/Guardians are required to lend their time as a volunteer at our annual tournament, The Back Mountain Brawl. Save the date - Saturday, May 11th  *Rain Date* -  Sunday, May 19th

  • Attendance at practice is expected and may affect game playing time.
  • Tournaments will be fielded competitively at the discretion of the coaching staff.

  • Girls & Boys Uniform Fee - $35 (new players & players who need updated sizes only)

  • Registration after 1/31 is not guaranteed and a $25 late fee will be applied
